The steel pipe manufacturing industry is a pillar industry in the Liaocheng, Shangdong Province. On the 131 hot rolling production line in HXHSteels, steel pipes pass through AI steel pipe defect detection equipment. If there are any defects on the surface, the AI detection equipment immediately marks the problematic area with red paint, allowing quality inspectors to improve the production process based on the detected flaws. In the past, each steel pipe had to be visually inspected and judged based on experience to determine if it met the standards.
Multiple factors such as workshop lighting conditions and visual fatigue produced by the Quality inspectors to check steel pipes, resulting in low efficiency and high error rates. This often leads to substandard steel pipes being sent to customers, affecting their project progress, causing returns, and damaging product reputation. "Last year, we introduced this AI intelligent detection equipment, which has improved the detection accuracy to 98%. So far, we have not received any return complaints," said Guo Kuanguang, Deputy General Manager in HXHSteels.
